Grade 1

- Addition & subtractionSubtraction within 10Subtract a one-digit number from a number up to 10 without borrowing, such as 7 − 5.
- Addition & subtractionAddition with RegroupingAdd two one-digit numbers that cross 10, such as 8 + 9 = 17. This is where a sum first carries into the tens place.
- Addition & subtractionSubtraction with RegroupingSubtract a one-digit number from a teen number when the ones digit is too small, such as 13 − 6. You borrow from the ten.
- Addition & subtraction2-Digit + 1-DigitAdd a one-digit number to a two-digit number without carrying, such as 74 + 4, with some whole-tens problems such as 70 + 20 mixed in.
- Addition & subtraction3-Number OperationsThree numbers in one line, worked left to right with plus and minus mixed, such as 2 + 9 + 2.
- Addition & subtraction2-Digit - 1-DigitSubtract a one-digit number from a two-digit number without borrowing, such as 42 − 2, with some whole-tens problems such as 80 − 40.
Grade 2
- Multiplication & divisionMultiplication: 2s & 5sThe 5 and 2 times tables, one fact per problem, such as 5 × 7 and 2 × 8.
- Addition & subtractionVertical Addition (2 Digits)Add two 2-digit numbers in a column, ones first, with no carrying, such as 42 + 36.
- Multiplication & divisionMultiplication: 3s & 4sThe 3 and 4 times tables, such as 3 × 9 and 4 × 8.
- Decimals & fractionsFractions 1/2 & 1/4Find one half or one quarter of a number, such as 1/2 of 14 = 7 or 1/4 of 32 = 8.
- Addition & subtractionVertical Addition w/ CarryColumn addition of 2-digit numbers where the ones column carries into the tens, such as 22 + 58 = 80. You write the small carry digit too.
- Addition & subtractionVertical Subtraction (2 Digits)Subtract one 2-digit number from another in columns with no borrowing, such as 78 − 34.
- Multiplication & divisionMultiplication: 6s & 7sThe 6 and 7 times tables, such as 6 × 9 and 7 × 8, the facts most children find hardest to memorize.
- Addition & subtractionVertical Subtraction w/ BorrowColumn subtraction where the ones column has to borrow from the tens, such as 55 − 9 = 46.
- Addition & subtractionAddition Past 100Add two 2-digit numbers whose sum reaches 100 or more, so the column carries into the hundreds, such as 89 + 83 = 172.
- Multiplication & divisionMultiplication: 8s, 9s, 1sThe 8, 9 and 1 times tables, such as 8 × 7 and 9 × 6.
- Addition & subtractionSubtraction from 100Subtract a 2-digit number from a number between 100 and 199 in columns, such as 132 − 94 = 38, borrowing across the tens and the hundreds.
- Multiplication & divisionMixed Times TablesAll times tables from 1 to 9 mixed together, so each fact has to come from memory instead of counting up the table.
- Multiplication & divisionMultiples of 10 × 1-DigitMultiply a multiple of ten by a one-digit number, such as 90 × 8 = 720: a times-table fact with a zero added.
Grade 3
- Decimals & fractionsFractions with Like DenominatorsAdd and subtract fractions with the same denominator, such as 3/6 − 1/6 = 2/6, with answers of 1 or less.
- Decimals & fractions1-Place Decimal AdditionAdd decimals to tenths in columns, lining up the decimal points before you add.
- Addition & subtraction3-Digit AdditionAdd two 3-digit numbers in columns with carrying in one or more places, such as 296 + 545 = 841.
- Decimals & fractions1-Place Decimal SubtractionSubtract decimals to tenths in columns, lining up the decimal points and borrowing across them when needed.
- Addition & subtraction3-Digit SubtractionSubtract a 2- or 3-digit number from a 3-digit number in columns with borrowing, such as 560 − 69 = 491.
- Addition & subtraction4-Digit AdditionAdd 4-digit numbers in columns with carries across several places, such as 2158 + 2969 = 5127.
- Multiplication & divisionBasic DivisionDivision facts that come out exactly, such as 72 ÷ 9 = 8: the times tables used backwards.
- Addition & subtraction4-Digit SubtractionSubtract from 4-digit numbers that contain zeros, such as 3405 − 682, where borrowing has to pass through a zero.
